From the Madrean Conifer Forests at 8,000 feet on the canyon rims to sub-tropical areas in the canyon bottoms, this part of Mexico has some of the most varied habitats in North America.
Your journey further into the canyon will reveal many new vistas that include our beautiful native flowers, our rare and exotic birds and of course, the gorgeous river.
The journey down into the canyon is well worth the effort. Feel free to stop along the way and enjoy the mini-hikes to see the remote homes of some of the Tarahumara residents that are native to the area.
